Obituary for Raymond W. Duncan

Raymond W. Duncan
Raymond W. Duncan, 68, a lifelong area resident, died on Wednesday, February 15, 2017 at Yale-New Haven Hospital in New Haven, CT. Mr. Duncan was a caretaker at the Pond View Farm in Millbrook, NY. Born on August 29, 1948 in Sharon, CT, he was the son of the late Walter G. Duncan and Grace O’Dell Duncan. On December 19, 1987 in Poughkeepsie, NY, he married Wendy Whiteley who survives at home.

Raymond was always working on a project at home and there was nothing he could not fix. He was a life member of J. H. Ketcham Hose Company in Dover Plains and a member of the National Rifle Association. Raymond was a Nascar car fan before it was cool.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son, Jeremy Duncan, and his wife, Renee, of Salt Point, NY and his daughter, Jennifer Graham of Flower Mount, TX; a sister, Cindy, and her husband, Bob Rogers of Wassaic, NY; two grandsons, Logan Graham and Devin Graham, his “second son”, Mark Rogers, his best friend, Bob Miller, sisters and brothers-in law, Wanda and Dan Chauncey, Dennis and Denise Whiteley, Dinah and Joe Marcelli, Larry Ireland and Judy Duncan and several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by a brother Edward Duncan.

The family would like to thank all the nurses and doctors at Memorial Sloan Hospital, especially for the staff of the 8th and 14th floor. Also thanks to everyone at the Infusion Center in Poughkeepsie. There are not enough words to thank Wanda and Dennis for the love and care they gave Raymond during this journey.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 6 p.m. on Saturday, February 18, 2017 at the J. H. Ketcham Hose Company, 3133 Route 22 in Dover Plains, NY. Memorial contributions may be made to the J. H. Ketcham Hose Company, P.O. Box 706, Dover Plains, NY 12522.
