Leslie B  Bartholomew
Leslie B. Bartholomew 90, a longtime area resident, died on Sunday October 30, 2016 at Sharon Hospital in Sharon, CT. Mr. Bartholomew worked for the Dutchess Quarry in Pleasant Valley, NY for 42 years retiring in 1989.

Born on August 28, 1926, he was the son of the late Leslie and Mildred (Boswell) Bartholomew. Mr. Bartholomew proudly served in the US Army during World War II. On April 13, 1974 in the Town of Clinton he married Helen M. Way who survives at home.

Mr. Bartholomew loved to volunteer at the Dutchess County Fair with the Antique Engine Club. He owned several motors which he enjoyed tinkering with. He was a true nature lover. He was especially fond of feeding the bird population. He even had chickens, pigs, a cow and a lamb. He always had a huge vegetable garden; sharing the bounty with family and friends. Leslie and Helen volunteered at the First United Church of Christ in Standfordville cooking and delivering meals to shut-ins; who he also enjoyed visiting. He will greatly be missed by his family and friends.

In addition to his wife, Mr. Bartholomew is survived by a daughter, Hazel Gregson and her husband, Glen, of Poughkeepsie, NY; three grandchildren, Alice and her husband, Chris, Fedyna of Poughkeepsie, NY, Adam Giles of Vermont, and Shane Bartholomew of Poughkeepsie, NY and two great-grandchildren. Besides his parents, Mr. Bartholomew was predeceased by a son Leslie Wayne Bartholomew.
