Obituary for Jean J. Coe
Jean J. Coe, 96, a longtime area resident, died on Sunday, December 6, 2015 at Sharon Health Care Center in Sharon, CT. Mrs. Coe was a seamstress at the Hudson Valley Psychiatric Center in Wingdale, NY for 26 years retiring in 1972.
Born on June 6, 1919 in Dover Plains, NY she was the daughter of the late Aristide and Catherine (Sostizzo) Masiero. On September 14, 1947 in Pawling, NY she married Arthur A. Coe, Sr. who predeceased her on December 20, 1986.
Mrs. Coe was a charter member of the American Legion Post #1949 Ladies Auxiliary in Wingdale, NY. She was also a parishioner of St. Charles Borromeo Church and a member of the Our Lady of Solace Ladies Guild.
Mrs. Coe is survived by her step-son, Arthur A. Coe, Jr. and his wife, Carolyn, of Ernul, NC; two daughters, Patricia A. Ring and her husband, William, of Lagrangeville, NY and Jerelyn J. Smith and her husband, Rodney, of Wingdale, NY; three sisters, Ceil D’Angelo of Rescue, CA, Claudia Sina of Dover Plains, NY and Enes Pezzato of Dover Plains, NY and a brother, Aristide Masiero of Dover Plains, NY. She is also survived by five grandchildren, Gina Marma, James Nytko, Keith and Ryan Smith and Michelle Coe and seven great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Coe was predeceased by three brothers, Raymond, Armando and Everesto Masiero and two sisters, Rose Sartori and Agnes Masiero.
Calling hours will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, December 10, 2015 at the Hufcut Funeral Home, 3159 Route 22, Dover Plains, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Friday, December 11, 2015 at St. Charles Borromeo Church, 62 Mill St., Dover Plains, NY.
