Janette C. Lounsbury, 84, a resident of Wassaic, NY, since 1975 and formerly of Katonah, NY, died on Monday, November 4, 2013 at her home in Wassaic, NY. Mrs. Lounsbury was a bank teller at Pawling Savings Bank in Dover Plains, NY retiring in 1995.

Born on August 4, 1929 in North Salem, NY, she was the daughter of the late Howard and Margaret (Day) Conner. Mrs. Lounsbury graduated North Salem High School and was the class of 1947 Valedictorian. On April 5, 1948 in North Salem, NY, she married George S. Lounsbury, Jr. who predeceased her on March 3, 1997. Mrs. Lounsbury was a volunteer at the Amenia Library, Amenia Voter Polls and a member of the Dover Plains United Methodist Church in Dover Plains, NY.

She is survived by her two sons, Mark Lounsbury and his wife, Susan, of Wassaic, NY and David Lounsbury and his wife, Evelyn, of Naples, FL and a brother, Richard Conner of Cortland, NY. She is also survived by eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Besides her husband and parents, Mrs. Lounsbury was predeceased by two brothers, Milton and Bruce Conner.

Graveside services and burial will take place at 10 a.m. on Saturday, November 9, 2013 at Valley View Cemetery, S. Nellie Hill Rd., Dover Plains, NY with the Rev. John Fritz officiating.
