to the VA Hudson Valley Health Care System.

Born on December 27, 1961 in Keene Valley, NY, she was the daughter of the late John W. and Shirley A.
(Cave) Harris. Sheryle was a graduate of Millbrook High School class of 1980. She received a LPN

Sheryle began her career as a staff nurse in Spinal Cord Injury (SCI) rehab and surgical intervention to
repair pressure ulcers. She later moved into educating staff in SCI, then to all employee education at
Castle Point. Sheryle was the former Clinical Education Supervisor/Manager at the VA Hudson Valley
Health Care System.

Sheryle had the honor and privilege of caring for our nation’s heroes, their families, and their caregivers.
She would often speak about how she was inspired by the strength and courage of our Veterans. This
inspiration encouraged Sheryle through her nursing journey. As she advanced her nursing career, Sheryle
believed in giving back to her profession as a nurse educator. She exemplified what it is to be a career
nursing professional and touched the lives of the clinical staff she worked with. Sheryle was also very
engaged in her community as an active member of the Red Hat Society, Nurses’ House, Nurses
Association, and local schools to promote the nursing profession.

Sheryle is survived by a sister, Lisa Baruffo and her husband, Thomas Jr., of Wingdale, NY and a brother,
Scott Harris of Hyde Park, NY. She is also survived by her three nieces Kayla Baruffo, Jessica Redahan
