Katrina Thomas died on November 20, 2018 at her farm in Dover Plains, New York at the age of 91.

Katrina was a life-long traveler and a photojournalist. Upon graduating from Bryn Mawr College in 1949, she was given a camera by her father and began her life living abroad and taking pictures. In 1954, the United Press published her pictures of a jeep tour down the Dalmatian Coast of Yugoslavia with her brother and sister-in-law. Returning to New York City, she photographed the congressional and mayoral campaigns of John V. Lindsay, and published her pictures in "America Illustrated" a magazine distributed in Russia. She continued her travels to East Africa documenting the work of the African Leadership Foundation preserving wildlife. From 1969 to 1986 she published her work in "Saudi Aramco World", promoting cross-cultural understanding between the Muslim world and the West. Her final project, documenting the wedding rituals of immigrants to the U.S. can be viewed at: www.brynmawr.edu/cdm4/ wedding.php.

Katrina is survived by her nephews, Andrew and Geoffrey, and her grandnephews and nieces, Saylor, Nathan, India and Erin.
