Charles  E.  Clapper
Charles E. Clapper, 86, a longtime resident of Dover Plains, NY died on Thursday, June 4, 2015 at Danbury Hospital in Danbury, CT. Mr. Clapper worked as a painter, glass cutter and cook at Wassaic Developmental Center for 22 years. He also proudly served in the US Air Force for 24 years.

Born on September 13, 1928 he was the son of the late Earl and Mary (Weiss) Clapper. He married Sandra Morrison who predeceased him on August 12, 2004.

Mr. Clapper is survived by three daughters, Margaret Steiglechner and her husband Hans of Wiesmühl, Bavaria,Germany; Nancy Bodnaryk and her husband, Peter, of Tory, NY and Dawn LaRock and her husband, Scott, of Dover Plains, NY; two sons, Lee Clapper and his wife, Denise, of Millerton, NY and Jeffrey Clapper of Dover Plains, NY. He is also survived by two sisters, Margaret Tidd of Burlington, VT and Ethel Lonegan of Peekskill, NY; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents and wife, Mr. Clapper was predeceased by a daughter, Penni Hough; two brothers, Arthur and Donald Clapper and two sisters, Ruth Sorrell and Marion Gordon.
