Mary Grace Deuell, 77, a 10-year Dover Plains resident, formerly of Millbrook, and Millerton, NY, died on Friday, November 14, 2014 at Noble Horizons Retirement Community in Salisbury, CT. Born on March 3, 1937 in Millerton, NY, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Helen (Collier) Kilmer. On September 5, 1953 in Smithfield, NY, she married Richard “Skip” Deuell who passed away on December 7, 2012.

For 25 years, Mrs. Deuell worked at the Webutuck Central School District as the school secretary retiring in 1995. She loved crafts, needlepoint, crocheting, gardening, cooking, traveling and was an avid stamp collector. Her greatest love was her family and grandchildren.

Mrs. Deuell is survived by four children, two sons, Rick Deuell and his wife, Linda, of Laramie, WY and Michael Deuell and his wife, Annie, of Pocatello, ID and two daughters, Mary Ellen Matteo and her husband, Joseph, and Debbie Ruppel and her husband, Michael, all of Millerton, NY. She is also survived by a brother, James Kilmer of Ancram, NY and a sister, Helen Roux of Copake, NY. She was a beloved grandmother of Aaron Deuell, Andrew Deuell and Amelia Deuell, Michael Ruppel, Kaitlin Ruppel and Christopher Matteo and Matthew Matteo. Besides her parents and husband, she was predeceased by two sisters, Connie Decker and Judy Murphy.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday, November 20, 2014 from 3 to 7 p.m. at the Hufcut Funeral Home, 3159 Route 22, Dover Plains, NY. Funeral services will take place at 11 a.m. on Friday, November 21, 2014 at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Irondale Cemetery in Millerton, NY.
