Obituary for Carl Roy Sprossel

Carl Roy  Sprossel
Carl Roy Sprossel, 78, a lifelong area resident, passed away Saturday, October 6, 2018 at Sharon Hospital in Sharon, CT. Born on August 9, 1940 in the Town of Washington, NY he was the son of the late Otto W. and Mabel E. (Somers) Sprossel. He proudly served in the US Air Force from 1957-1961. Mr. Sprossel was a truck driver at Taconic DDSO for 25 years retiring in 2002.

Mr. Sprossel is survived by his loving companion, Shirley Wesley of Millerton, NY; a daughter, Deborah Fleury of Loch Sheldrake, NY; a step-daughter, Kitty Moyer and her husband, Tim, of Wassaic, NY and a step-son, George Wesley and his wife, Wendy, of Winchester, VA. He is also survived by three brothers, Otto Sprossel, Jr., of Dover Plains, William Sprossel of Pine Plains, NY and Thomas Sprossel of Florida; two sister, Cindy Adrian of Florida and Frances Phillips of Amenia, NY; a grandson, Dylan Fleury; four step-grandchildren, Stacy Monty, Cherri Moyer, Mark Wesley and Brandy Ryker and several great grandchildren. He is also survived by his former wife, Carol Maile, of Wingdale, NY. In addition to his parents, Mr. Sprossel was predeceased by a brother, Robert Sprossel and a sister Gerda Binotto.

Calling hours will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Friday, October 12, 2018 at the Hufcut Funeral Home, 3159 Route 22, Dover Plains, NY. Funeral services will follow at 1 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Valley View Cemetery in Dover Plains, NY. Memorial contributions may be made to the Salisbury Visiting Nurse Association, 30a Salmon Kill Rd, Salisbury, CT 06068.
