Obituary for Mary T. Hardisty

Mary T.  Hardisty
Mary T. Hardisty, 87, a lifelong Amenia resident, passed away on August 11, 2018 at Hartford Hospital in Hartford, CT. Born on September 13, 1930 in Sharon, CT, she was the daughter of William V. and Elizabeth (Nealis) McEnroe. Mrs. Hardisty attended Immaculate Conception School and graduated from Amenia High School. She also attended The Foundling Hospital in New York City.

On June 17, 1956 at Immaculate Conception Church in Amenia, NY, she married Lawrence C. Hardisty who survives at home. From 1952 to 1958, she was employed as an office worker at the Up-To-Date Women’s Clothing Store in Poughkeepsie, NY. Mary loved spending time with her family that included her nieces and nephews.

Besides her husband, she is survived by her daughter, Laurie C. Hardisty of Amenia and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Mary was predeceased by her son, Lawrence C. Hardisty, Jr., her brother, William T. McEnroe and her sister, Anna McEnroe Costine.

There will be no calling hours. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, August 18, 2018 at 11 a.m. at the Immaculate Conception Church, Lavelle Rd. in Amenia, NY. Interment will follow at Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Amenia. Contributions in her memory may be made to the Immaculate Conception Church, 4 Lavelle Rd., Amenia, NY 12501.
