Condolences

Condolence From: Bob Riemer
Condolence: Francis Babe Foley, was a longtime friend. He always had a smile on his face, even as he approached ninety years of age. One of my last great memories is inviting he and George Kinney to play a round of golf at Segalla CC. We had a wonderful nine holes together and enjoyed a joyous lunch together at the end of the round. About two years ago I asked him if he wanted to play a round at Hotchkiss Golf Course, he kind of hemmed and hawed and finally agreed, to try tp play just a couple of holes. I convinced him as we played that he was doing so well he could make a full round of nine holes and he met the challenge.
Then each day as he came by the office to get his mail he always talked about another round of golf. This past week when I stopped by to wish him well he beamed at me, grabbed my hand and focused on me for a moment and then dozed off with our memories together from the past. These memories will remain with me forever!

Condolence From: Barnett Epstein
Condolence: Francis (Babe) was a true Amenia-ite from another era. Also, one of Amenia’s great baseball players from the now lost Interstate League. Our family spent many Sundays following the Monarchs from Arlington to Winsted, CT. Television eventually put an end to this kind of thing, but it was great while it lasted.
