Eleanor Benson Magnussen, 79, recently of Fredericksburg, VA formerly a longtime resident of Guilderland, NY, passed away on Tuesday, March 21, 2018 at Mary Washington Hospital in Fredericksburg, VA. Mrs. Magnussen graduated from Stamford Hospital School of Nursing and worked as a registered nurse at Sharon Hospital in Sharon, CT and the Daughters of Sarah Nursing Home in Albany, NY.

Born on January 10, 1939 in Sharon, CT, she was the daughter of the late Hasner N. and Gertrude (Randall) Benson. Mrs. Magnussen is survived by her three children, Eric Magnussen and his wife, Colleen, of Geneseo, NY, David Magnussen of Concord, NC and Carol Valencik and her husband, Paul, of Fredericksburg, VA. She is also survived by a sister, Margaret Roe and her husband, Bernie, of Wappingers Falls, NY and three grandchildren, Brandon Magnussen and his wife, Renee, Evan Magnussen and Jessica Childress and her husband, Jacob.

Calling hours will be held from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm on Wednesday, March 28, 2018 at the Hufcut Funeral Home, 3159 Route 22, Dover Plains, NY. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 pm at the funeral home. Burial will take place in Valley View Cemetery in Dover Plains.
