Ella T. Heck, 60, a longtime resident of Dover Plains, NY, died on Wednesday, January 24, 2018 at Weill Cornell Medical Center in New York, NY. Mrs. Heck was a sales clerk at the Wingdale Wine & Liquor Store and later the Berkshire Wine and Spirit Shop in Dover Plains.

Born on February 19, 1957 in Carmel, NY, she was the daughter of the late Elmer and Elnora (White) Ross. On May 30, 1999 in Dover Plains, NY, she married George Heck who survives at home. Mrs. Heck was an avid crafter. She also enjoyed sewing, knitting, gardening and caring for her horse, Pretty Girl and her dog, Princess.

In addition to her loving husband, Mrs. Heck is survived by two sons, John Sakowich and his wife, Kim, of Hopewell Junction, NY and Frank Bennett and his wife, Samantha, of Tulsa, OK and two daughters, Angela Wittman and her husband, Keith, of Granville, NY, and Stacy Monahan and her husband, Roger, of Lagrangeville, NY. She is also survived by a brother, Milton Ross of South Carolina; a sister, Wanda Silva of Monticello, NY and seven grandchildren who she adored. Besides her parents, Mrs. Heck was predeceased by a brother, Gary Ross.

Calling hours will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. pm on Wednesday, January 31, 2018 at the Hufcut Funeral Home, 3159 Route 22, Dover Plains, NY. Funeral services will take place at 11 a.m. on Thursday, February 1, 2018 at the funeral home with Rev. Anthony Bacino officiating. Burial will follow at Valley View Cemetery in Dover Plains.
