Barbara Jane Holmes, 74, a longtime resident of Dover Plains, NY, died on Wednesday, April 26, 2017 at her home in Dover Plains, NY. Mrs. Holmes was a registered nurse at the Datahr Rehabilitation Center in Danbury, CT retiring in 2003.

Born on March 15, 1943 in Glens Falls, NY she was the daughter of the late Earl and Doris (Vanderwarker) Lanphear. On November 2, 1963 in North Creek, NY she married Roy Holmes who survives at home. Mrs. Holmes was a member of Dover First Baptist Church in Wingdale, NY.

In addition to her loving husband, Mrs. Holmes is survived by two sons, Roy T. Holmes and his wife, Tammy, of Wingdale, NY and Mark E. Holmes of Wingdale, NY; three daughters, Lori A. Foley and her husband, Patrick, of Canaan, CT, Shari L. Christiansen and her husband, Michael, of Jupiter, FL and Meghan E. Mayo and her husband, Devon, of Lantana, FL. She is also survived by two brothers, Larry Lanphear of Minerva, NY and Gary Lanphear of Voorheesville, NY; twelve grandchildren, Andrew, Benjamin, Karly and Kaleb Holmes, Garrett, Jarred, Jacob, and Cameron Foley, Paige and Tori Christiansen and Beckett and Sawyer Mayo and one great-grandson, Abbott Nelson.

Calling hours will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday May 3, 2017 at the Hufcut Funeral Home, 3159 Route 22, Dover Plains, NY. Funeral services will take place at 10 a.m. on Thursday, May 4, 2017 at Dover First Baptist Church, Route 55, Wingdale, NY with Pastor Anthony Bacino officiating.
