Daniel J.  Keeler
Daniel J. Keeler,73, a resident of Wingdale, NY, formerly of Pawling, NY, passed away on Tuesday, April 25, 2017 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center in Poughkeepsie, NY.

Daniel was born in Danbury, Connecticut on April 2, 1944 to the late Robert and Frances (Coughlin) Keeler. On October 11, 1969 in Danbury, CT he married Janice Daley who survives at home after 47 years of marriage. Daniel attended Ridgefield High School and then worked as a mechanic throughout his adult life.

A longtime resident of Pawling, Daniel was well known for his bright smile and ability to make friends with anyone, anywhere, at any time. His joy, strength, and vibrant personality touched everyone he encountered. He was passionate about community involvement, displayed through his membership as a 4th Degree Knight in the Knights of Columbus and in his role as Vice President of the Pawling Lions Club. An avid musician and classic country fan, Daniel could always be found dancing and singing, especially to his favorites such as Johnny Cash, George Jones, and Loretta Lynn.

Daniel was infinitely proud of his family, he considered them to be his greatest legacy. In addition to his loving wife, Janice, he is also survived by a daughter, Tina and her husband, Eero, of Poughkeepsie, NY; a step-son, James Daley and his wife, Beth, of Verbank, NY and a step daughter-in-law, Elise Daley of Carmel. He is also survived by four brothers, Walter Keeler of Wingdale, NY, Richard Keeler of Patterson, Patrick Keeler of New Milford, CT and Harold Keeler of Southbury, CT; two sisters, Beverly Melius of Plattsburgh and Emma Keeler of Danbury, CT; ten grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Besides his parents, Daniel was predeceased by a step-son, William Daley and four brothers, Allen, Robert, John, and William Keeler.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Saturday, April 29, 2017 at St. John the Evangelist Church, 39 E. Main St., Pawling, NY. Burial will be private. For directions or to send the family an online condolence, please visit www.hufcutfuneralhome.com
