Thomas Edward Judson, 92, a lifelong resident of Wingdale, NY, died on Saturday, February 11, 2017 at his home. Mr. Judson was a dairy farmer for many years and later turned his property into a successful agricultural farm. For 34 years, he also worked as a rural route carrier for the United States Post Service. While doing all this, he also sold insurance part-time for National Grange working until the age of 80.

Born on March 19, 1924 in Sharon, CT, he was the son of the late Wilfred S. Judson and Mary Dorothy Brush Judson. On May 12, 1951 in Wingdale, NY, he married Lowell Capp who survives at home. Mr. Judson was a past president of the South Dover Rural Cemetery Association. Tom’s love for life was infectious, his search for “Dancin’ Girls” never ended, and his love for his family always came first. He enjoyed a good conversation with anyone he met in his travels. In his younger years, Tom enjoyed hunting, fishing and trapping.

Besides his wife, he is survived by three sons, Douglas Judson and his wife, Diane, of Wingdale; James Judson and his wife, Diane, of Los Gatos, CA and Richard Judson and his wife, Pamela, of Wingdale and two daughters, Laura Emerson and her husband, David, of Dover Plains and Aileen Judson of Flagstaff, AZ; twelve grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Calling hours will be held from 12 to 2 p.m. on Friday, February 17, 2017 at the Hufcut Funeral Home, 3159 Route 22, Dover Plains, NY. Funeral services will follow at 2 p.m. with Pastor Kathleen Meyerson officiating. Burial will take place at South Dover Rural Cemetery in Wingdale.
