Obituary for Zellie D. Boscardin

Zellie D. Boscardin, 84, a longtime resident of Dover Plains, NY, died on Wednesday, February 1, 2017 at Vassar Hospital in Poughkeepsie, NY. Mrs. Boscardin, with her husband, owned and operated Marco Boscardin Contracting in Dover Plains.

Born on July 6, 1932 in Sharon, CT, she was the daughter of the late Angelo and Linda (DalCortino) Pozza. Mrs. Boscardin was a graduate of Dover High School. She also graduated from the Mildred Elley Business School for Girls in Albany, NY. On November 11, 1950 in Dover Plains, NY she married Marco Boscardin who predeceased her on September 29, 1995.

Mrs. Boscardin was a member of the Dover Health Club and Dover Lions Club. She was also a member of the Dover-Wingdale Senior Citizens and also the Millbrook Senior Citizens. Mrs. Boscardin enjoyed playing scrabble. She was an avid traveller throughout the world. She attended Dutchess Community College and enjoyed classes in History and Anthropology. Mrs. Boscardin was a longtime parishioner of St. Charles Borromeo Church in Dover Plains.

Mrs. Boscardin is survived by her daughter, Linda Mastriano-Letica and her husband, Gregory, of Northport, NY and three sons, Marco David Boscardin and his wife, Marylynn, of Amherst, MA, Stephen Boscardin and his wife, Jamie, of Paradise Valley, AZ and Silvano Boscardin and his wife, Jackie, of Millbrook, NY. She is also survived by her sister, Gloria Beebe of Dover Plains, NY and ten grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Boscardin was predeceased by a son, Dino Boscardin and a sister, Norma Grayson.

Calling hours will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, February 3, 2017 at the Hufcut Funeral Home, 3159 Route 22, Dover Plains, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1 p.m. on Saturday February 4, 2017 at St. Charles Borromeo Church, 62 Mill St., Dover Plains, NY with Rev. Salvatore DeStefano officiating.
