Obituary for Albert Lee "Rusty" Frankland

Albert Lee “Rusty” Frankland, 82, a lifelong area resident, died on Wednesday, January 25, 2017 at his home in Wingdale. Mr. Frankland worked in the maintenance department of the New York State Department of Corrections for 20 years retiring in 1997.

Born on January 20, 1935 in Sherman, CT he was the son of the late Albert Frankland and Luella (Duncan) Arvisais. Rusty proudly served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. He was a former member of the American Legion Post #1949 in Wingdale, NY.

Rusty enjoyed riding his motorcycle and was an avid hunter and fisherman.

Rusty is survived by his son, Jeffrey Frankland and his wife, Michelle, of New Preston, CT; two daughters; Sonya Sartori and her husband, Michael, of Wingdale, NY and Kim Lapierre and her husband, Philip, of Fairfax, VT. He is also survived by a sister, Marian Wheeler of Pawling, NY; five grandchildren, Jared and Janelle Frankland, Ryan Sartori, Amber Grayson and Ashley Filskov and seven great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Rusty was predeceased by a sister, Martha Jane Frankland.
