Denis P. Murphy, 85, a longtime resident of Wingdale, NY, died on Friday, July 8, 2016 at his home in Wingdale, NY. Mr. Murphy was a cabinet maker at Hunt Country Furniture and also worked at the Harlem Valley Psychiatric Center in Wingdale, NY.

Born on September 1, 1930 in New York, NY he was the son of the late James and Mary (Shine) Murphy. Mr. Murphy proudly served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. On February 20, 1960 at St. Stephen’s Church in Manhattan, NY he married Mary C. Mullen who survives at home. Mr. Murphy was a member of the American Legion Post #1949 and was a parishioner of St. Charles Borromeo Church in Dover Plains, NY.

In addition to his loving wife, Mr. Murphy is survived by two sons, James Murphy and his wife, Kelly, of Dover Plains, NY and William Murphy and his wife, Karen, of Wingdale, NY and a daughter, Christina Iseldyke and her husband, William, of East Brunswick, NJ. He is also survived by five grandchildren, Shamus Murphy, Amanda Daley, Alyssa Murphy, Courtney and Stefan Iseldyke and two great-grandchildren, Aiden and Landon Murphy.

Calling hours will be held from 9 to 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, July 12, 2016 at the Hufcut Funeral Home, 3159 Route 22, Dover Plains, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11 a.m. at St. Charles Borromeo Church, 62 Mill Street, Dover Plains, NY. Burial will take place at St. Charles Cemetery in Dover Plains, NY.
