Ernest L.  Woodin
Ernest L. Woodin, 79, a lifelong resident of Danbury, CT died on Thursday, May 5, 2016 at Danbury Hospital in Danbury, CT surrounded by his loving family. Mr. Woodin was a carpenter for Karl Stand, Joe Thurston and Martino Brothers Carpentry retiring in 2006.

Born on May 23, 1936 in Sharon, CT he was the son of the late Earl and Beatrice (Benson) Woodin. On November 20, 1955 in Danbury, CT he married Marjorie Wells who survives at home. Mr. Woodin was an avid wood worker and gardener. He also attended the Baptist Church of Danbury.

In addition to his loving wife, Mr. Woodin is survived by his daughter, Deborah King and her husband, Randy, of Swartz Creek, MI; a brother, Gordon Woodin of Bethel, CT and two sisters, Joyce St. Clair of Waterbury, CT and Barbara Kubisek of Bethel, CT. Mr. Woodin is also survived by a grandson, James Veness of Kewaunee, Wisconsin; a great-granddaughter, Jennifer Brush of Fenton, Michigan and several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Mr. Woodin was predeceased by a sister, Janet Laughlin, a brother, John Woodin and a nephew, John Woodin, Jr.

Calling hours will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, May 10, 2016 at the Baptist Church of Danbury, 14 Granville Ave., Danbury, CT. Funeral services will take place at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, May 11, 2016 at the Baptist Church of Danbury with Rev. Dr. David Reinhardt officiating. Burial will take place at 3 p.m. on Wednesday at the Valley View Cemetery, S. Nellie Hill Road, Dover Plains, NY. The family thanks the doctors and nurses on the 10th and 12th floor of the Danbury Hospital for the excellent care they gave Ernie.
