Irma M. Garrand, 94, a lifelong resident of Dover Plains, NY, died on Thursday, January 21, 2016 at Sharon Hospital in Sharon, CT. She has gone to be with her family and friends.

Mrs. Garrand was a therapy aide at the Harlem Valley Psychiatric Center in Wingdale, NY and also worked at Pawling Rubber Corp. in Pawling, NY retiring in 1974.

Born on February 27, 1921 in Dover Plains, NY she was the daughter of the late Angelo and Giovanna (Ronzani) Sartori. On April 28, 1942 in Wappingers Falls, NY she married Gordon Garrand, Sr. who predeceased her on December 17, 1989. Mrs. Garrand was a member of the Dover Stone Church Grange #1561 and was a parishioner of St. Charles Borromeo Church in Dover Plains. NY.

Mrs. Garrand is survived by her two daughters, Roberta Markstein and her husband, Melvin Jennings of Dover Plains, NY and Diana St. John and her husband, Richard, of New Hartford, CT and a son, Gordon Garrand, Jr. and his wife, Chris, of Millbrook, NY. She is also survived by ten grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Garrand was predeceased by a brother, Frank Sartori and two sisters, Anna Smith and Victoria Sina.

Calling hours will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. on Tuesday, January 26, 2016 at the Hufcut Funeral Home, 3159 Route 22, Dover Plains, NY. Funeral services will follow at 4 p.m. at the funeral home.
