Vivian M. Schneider, 89, a longtime resident of Wassaic, NY, died on Sunday, November 15, 2015 at Noble Horizon in Salisbury, CT. Born on June 8, 1926 in Kent, CT, she was the daughter of the late Morton and Nellie (Kinney) Thompson. On January 17, 1950 in Millerton, NY, she married Philip J. Schneider who died on April 5, 2014.

Mrs. Schneider is survived by a daughter, Phyllis Schneider of Salisbury, CT; a brother, John Thompson of Pittsfield, MA, several nieces and nephews and several grandnieces and grandnephews. Besides her parents and husband, she was predeceased by four sisters, Nellie Thompson, Emma Jillson, Harriet Schlander and Ella Darrow and four brothers, Morton, Howard, Charles and Frank Thompson.

Calling hours will be held from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. on Tuesday, November 17, 2015 at the Hufcut Funeral Home, 3159 Route 22, Dover Plains, NY. Funeral services will follow at 2 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will take place at Flanders Cemetery in Kent, CT.
