Thomas J. O’Keefe, 86, a resident of Dover Plains, NY formerly of Bronx, NY died on Monday, October 5, 2015 at The Grand in Pawling, NY. Mr. O’Keefe was a firefighter with the New York City Fire Department retiring in 1973.

Born on August 24, 1929 in Bronx, NY he was the son of the late Michael and Mary (Hegarty) O’Keefe. On September 9, 1950 in Bronx, NY he married Helen Lawlor who predeceased him on February 13, 1961. He was also predeceased by his second wife, Francine O’Keefe.

Mr. O’Keefe is survived by one son, Daniel O’Keefe and his wife, Stephanie, of Venice, FL and five daughters, Helen Semione and her husband, Anthony, of Great Meadows, NJ, Lorraine O’Keefe of Georgia, Kathy Unden and her husband, William, of Dover Plains, NY, Peg Haan of Wappinger Falls, NY and Jenifer Moffree of Catskill, NY. He is also survived by three step-sons, Timothy Sullivan and his wife, Cheryl, of Austin, TX, Thomas Sullivan of Brooklyn, NY and Darren Sullivan and his wife, Donna, of Poughkeepsie, NY and nineteen grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents and wives, Mr. O’Keefe was predeceased by two sons, Thomas O’Keefe, Jr. and Robert O’Keefe; a daughter, Theresa Fox, and three brothers, John, Francis and William O’Keefe.

Calling hours will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. on Monday, October 12, 2015 at the Hufcut Funeral Home, 3159 Route 22, Dover Plains, NY. Prayers will be offered at 7 p.m. during the calling hours. Burial will take place at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, October 14, 2015 at St. Raymond’s Cemetery in Bronx, NY.
