Ezaura  Wilkinson
Ezaura Rodrigues Wilkinson, 89, a resident of Dover Plains, NY passed away on Thursday, July 30, 2015.
Daughter of the late Joseph and Mary Carriera Rodrigues, she was born on October 18, 1925 in Ansonia, Connecticut. She grew up in Waterbury, Connecticut and resided in Dover Plains, New York after marrying Charles Nathaniel Wilkinson in 1945.
During World War II Ezaura not only worked in a munitions factory, but also performed in the Ingersoll Amateur show at the prestigious Waterbury Theatre. Her singing career included recording several LP records as well as performing in a USO show. Ezaura’s love and commitment to caring for her family superseded her pursuit of a singing career. After settling down in Dover Plains, she worked as a mental hygiene therapy aide at the Wassaic State School. Ezaura was a communicant of St Charles Borromeo Church and an active assistant and participant in the children’s choir. She was also a charter member of Harlem Valley V.F.W. Post #5444 Women’s Auxiliary in Dover Plains.
Ezaura is survived by four daughters, Carol Butts and her husband Gary, of Dover Plains, NY, Sandra Pickering and her husband, Randall, of Gowanda, NY, Nancy Schreiber and her husband, William, of Wingdale, NY and Beatrice Wood and her husband, Rory, of Wingdale, NY. She is also survived by one brother, George Antonio of Watertown CT; three sisters, Francine Paolino of Prospect, CT, Ida Anderson of Wolcott, CT and Elizabeth Angell of Wolcott, CT. Ezaura was a loving grandmother to Michelle Bonavenia, Jennifer Ennis, Joseph Tanner, Jason Pickering, Lea Hundersmarck, Brandon Schreiber, Laurel Wood and Emily Wood. She was also a memorable great grandmother to Jeremy Morrison, Ally Burdick, Anthony Bonavenia, Jr., Kohnor Ennis, Vivian Tanner, Jeremy Pickering, Amelia Pickering and Jensen Schreiber. Besides her parents and husband, she was predeceased by sisters Dolly and Hilda, and brothers Lionel and Arthur and great granddaughter, Emma Tanner.
Calling hours will be held from 9 to 10:15 am on Tuesday, August 4, 2015 at the Hufcut Funeral Home, 3159 Route 22, Dover Plains, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will also be celebrated at 11 am on Tuesday at the Immaculate Conception Church, 4 Lavelle Road, Amenia, NY. Burial will follow at St. Charles Cemetery in Dover Plains, NY.
