Obituary for Marguerite Doyle (Arnold)

Marguerite Doyle (Arnold)
Marguerite Arnold Doyle, 96, a resident of Darien, CT for over 70 years passed away peacefully on April 20, 2015 at her home.

Born on May 6, 1918 in Sharon, CT, she was the daughter of the late Anton and Cornelia (Themak) Arnold.

Her youth was spent in Dutchess County, NY and, after secretarial school, her working career took her to Westchester, NY where she met her husband. After marriage and raising her large family, Mrs. Doyle re-entered the workforce and continued to work as an administrative assistant at both Capitol Records and Arthur J. Gallagher & Co. in Stamford well into her eighties. Her home and family were the joys of her life. Known for her culinary talents as a wonderful cook and baker, her meals and desserts were coveted by whomever had the good fortune to sample them.

Mrs. Doyle was a parishioner of St. Thomas More Church in Darien, CT.

She is survived by her five loving daughters, Katherine (Donald) McAuliffe of West Norwalk, CT; Patricia Burgevin of Darien, CT; Colleen (James) Fraccola of Jensen Beach, FL; Maureen Doyle of Wilton, CT; and Shannon (John) Clinton of Avon, CT. She is also survived by seven grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Mrs. Doyle was predeceased by her former husband, Vinson P. Doyle of Stamford, CT, her sister, Alice Hill of White Plains, NY and two brothers, Henry Arnold and Samuel Hall of Dover Plains, NY.
Funeral services and burial at St. Charles Cemetery in Dover Plains, NY will be private and at the convenience of the family.

Any memorial donations in Marguerite Doyle’s honor should be made to Masonicare Home Health and Hospice, Inc., P.O. Box 70, Wallingford, CT 06492.
