Obituary for Dolores Musella

Dolores Musella
It is with great sorrow that we announce that Pawling resident Dolores Musella, 63, a loving wife, mother, grandmother and admired friend to many, passed away and entered eternal peace surrounded by her family on Tuesday, March 10th, 2015.
Mrs. Musella was born on November 19, 1951 in Mt. Vernon, New York. She graduated from St. Barnabas High School in the Bronx, New York. On August 8, 1970, she married the love of her life, Louis Musella. Soon after their marriage, they moved to Pawling, where they worked beside each other for the last 45 years raising their family and serving the community.
She leaves her loving memory to be cherished by her devoted husband, Lou, and their two adorning daughters and sons-in-laws, Corinne Pitt and her husband Steven; and Samantha Trinh and her husband Steve. She adored her grandchildren, Eden Pitt and Savannah Trinh. Her brother Glenn Day and his wife Flora, from the Bronx, also survive Mrs. Musella. Some of her most treasured time was spent with her brother and sister-in- law over long weekends in the Adirondacks, where both families have cabins close to each other. Dolores was overjoyed when her grandchild Eden would spend her weekends at the cabin with her Nona and PopPop. She loved creating lasting memories close to nature with her family and her Yellow Lab Tucker.
Mrs. Musella devoted her life to her role as mother and homemaker, lovingly raising two successful daughters, both now mothers. The love of her family was her life's greatest joy and accomplishment.
Mr. and Mrs. Musella provided their family with a wonderful home filled with love, security, and devotion; and, she touched the lives of family and friends, who will remember her for her exceptional character and special grace. She was widely admired as a very kind and gentle soul; with upstanding values; she had a loving and generous heart, and was always giving to others.
She was admired for her many skills and passions, which included cooking, gardening, antiquing and nurturing a magnificently kept, loving home. Mrs. Musella was also a longtime staff member at the Pawling Resource Center, a local non-profit community charity organization, where she served with devotion and respect. She also loved her work at the Pawling Antique Center, where her passion and knowledge about antiques made her an invaluable asset.
"There never was a purer heart than that of my dear Mother, whose love and care goes on and on, far beyond all others. Friends are made by folks like me, or perhaps by many others, but at journey's end we'll always find, only God can give us Mothers." Author unknown
A Memorial Mass will be offered by Father John J. Duff at St. John the Evangelist Church, 39 East Main Street, Pawling, New York, on Friday, March 13th, 2015, at 11:00 a.m. Memorial contributions may be made in Dolores’ name to Smile Train, an international children's charity that provides free cleft lip and palate repair surgery to children in 85+ developing countries, P.O.
