Obituary for Alfred Towle

Alfred  Towle
Alfred Towle, 86, of Palm Harbor, FL formerly a longtime resident of Wingdale, NY died on February 1, 2015 in Palm Harbor, FL. Mr. Towle was a plumber and steamfitter at the Harlem Valley Psychiatric Center in Wingdale, NY for 37 years.

Born on August 10, 1928 in Malone, NY he was the son of the late Charles and Leah (Dumas) Towle. On February 6, 1949 at St. Charles Borromeo Church in Dover Plains, NY he married Alice Mostachetti who survives at home. Mr. Towle was a member of the Chestnut Ridge Rod and Gun Club and the J.H. Ketcham Hose Company. He was also a member of the Harlem Valley Golf Club and the Lake Tarpon Men’s Golf league. Mr. Towle was a parishioner of St. Charles Borromeo Church and was a member of the Knights of Columbus in Pawling, NY.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Edward Towle and his wife Karen of Dunedin, FL; two daughters, Linda Monti and her husband, Peter of Laurel, MD and Deborah Hardy and her husband, Doug of Somers, CT; a brother, Leo Towle and a sister, Pauline Condron of Lanesboro, MA. He is also survived by six grandchildren, Tanya Holmes, Peter A. Monti, Vanessa Mullin, Jessica Talaga, Jillian Connors and Christopher Hardy and fifteen great-grandchildren. Besides his parents, Mr. Towle was predeceased by three brothers, Charles, Alex and James Towle and a sister, Cecelia Hunkins.

Calling hours will be held from 3 to 5 p.m. on Sunday, February 15, 2015 at the Hufcut Funeral Home, 3159 Route 22, Dover Plains, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Monday, February 16, 2015 at St. Charles Borromeo Church, 62 Mill St., Dover Plains, NY with Rev. Anthony Giuliano officiating. Burial will follow at South Dover Rural Cemetery in Wingdale, NY. Memorial contributions may be made to the J.H. Ketcham Hose Company, P.O. Box 706, Dover Plains, NY 12522.
