John F. Anderson, 86, a longtime resident of Poughkeepsie, NY, died on Saturday, January 24, 2015 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center in Poughkeepsie, NY. Mr. Anderson worked in the Security Department at IBM in Poughkeepsie, NY and later owned and operated a family care home in Poughkeepsie. Born on September 10, 1928 in Sharon, CT, he was the son of the late John and Alice (Kelly) Anderson.

Mr. Anderson was a Little League and basketball coach in Dover Plains and coached softball teams in Poughkeepsie. He is survived by two daughters, Roxanne Williams of Poughkeepsie, NY and Alicia Ludwig of Pleasant Valley, NY; a son, John Anderson of Iowa; six grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. He is also survived by three brothers, James, Richard and Edward Anderson and several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by four brothers, William, Ronald, Gerald and Robert Anderson.
