Diana Mary Kelly, 67, a lifelong resident of the area, died on Saturday, September 6, 2014 at Sharon Hospital in Sharon, CT. Diana was a registered nurse at Sharon Hospital in Sharon, CT for 46 years where she served in many capacities including the Clinical Coordinator of the Emergency Department, Employee Health, Worker’s Compensation, Case Management, Safety Officer and most recently, the Hospital Infection Prevention Coordinator.

Born on January 20, 1947 in Sharon, CT, she was the daughter of the late Francis and Eleanor T. (Bida) Morrison. She attended Immaculate Conception Elementary School in Amenia and was a Class of 1964 graduate of Our Lady of Lourdes High School in Poughkeepsie. Diana received her graduate nursing degree from St. Francis Hospital in Poughkeepsie, NY in 1967, a Bachelor’s of Arts Degree from the College of Mt. St. Vincent in Riverdale, NY in 1975, and a Master’s of Public Administration from Marist College in Poughkeepsie, NY in 1992.

Diana served on the Board of Directors of the Lola B. Sherman Foundation in Amenia, NY, and was a past member and former recording secretary of the Immaculate Conception Home School Association. From 1977 to 1981 she was a member of the J.H. Ketcham Hose Company Auxiliary and Rescue Squad in Dover Plains. At Sharon Hospital, Diana served on the Safety and Disaster Committees, the Clinical Ladders of Practice and the Patient Education Committees. She was a parishioner of Immaculate Conception Church in Amenia, NY.

Diana loved spending time with her daughter and son-in-law, grandson, family, friends and co-workers. An avid supporter of Webutuck Athletics, she also loved NASCAR, the New York Yankees and her New York Jets. She enjoyed traveling, scrapbooking and was a loyal patron of The Pines Restaurant in Wassaic.

She is survived by her daughter, Kathleen Howard and her husband, Aaron, of Amenia, NY; a grandson, Nolan Howard; her mother-in-law, Nina M. Kelly; brother-in-law, Brian Kelly and his wife, Cheryl, and sisters-in-law, Rebecca Sartori and her husband, David, and Carolyn Lasher. She is also survived by her cousins, Ellen Bida, Maria Bida, Virginia Bida and Stephen Bida and her former husband, William R. Kelly of Dover Plains, NY. Besides her parents, Diana was predeceased by a daughter, Kimberly Kelly in 1995, her father-in-law, Frank W. Kelly in 2010 and her brother-in-law, Lt. Thomas P. Lasher in 2012.

Calling hours will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, September 11, 2014 at the Hufcut Funeral Home, 3159 Route 22, Dover Plains, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Friday, September 12, 2014 at Immaculate Conception Church, 4 Lavelle Road, Amenia, NY with Rev. Kent Wilson officiating. Burial will follow at Valley View Cemetery in Dover Plains, NY. Contributions in Diana’s memory may be made to the Lola B.
