Philip Cassara, 52, a resident of Amenia, NY formerly of Mamaroneck, NY died peacefully on Tuesday, July 29, 2014 surrounded by his loving family in Amenia, NY at the home he lovingly built. Philip was a self-employed contractor and enjoyed classic car restoration. He was also an avid water and downhill skier.

Born on February 12, 1962 in New Rochelle, NY he is the son of Charles and Dorothy (Schmalzigan) Cassara of Amenia, NY. In addition to his parents, Philip is survived by his grandmother, Clara Schmalzigan; a sister, Dawn Cassara and her children, Sophia, Jacob and Samuel Marcus. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles and friends. Philip was predeceased by his brother Thomas in 1983.

Graveside services and burial will take place at 11 a.m. on Saturday, August 2, 2014 at Beechwoods Cemetery, 179 Beechwood Ave. New Rochelle, NY. A celebration of life service will be announced at a later date.
