Tom E. Grundvig, 62, a longtime resident of Sherman, CT died on Monday, June 16, 2014 at home in Sherman, CT surrounded by his loving family. Mr. Grundvig was a Construction Site Supervisor at Westchester Modular Construction Corp in Wingdale, NY for 36 years.

Born on September 13, 1951 in Bronxville, NY he is the son of Gudrun (Odfiell) Grundvig of Southampton, NJ and the late Ottar Grundvig. Mr. Grundvig was a graduate of Hope College in Holland, MI class of 1973. On March 9, 1974 in Rochester, NY he married Judith Pillen who survives at home.

In addition to his mother and wife, Mr. Grundvig is survived by a daughter, Kristin Grundvig Steele and her husband, Christopher of Charlotte, NC; a son, Pieter William Grundvig and his wife, Nadine of Sherman, CT; a sister, Belinda Rosen of Medford, NJ and two brothers, James Grundvig of New York, NY and Franklin Grundvig of Houston, TX. He is also survived by three grandchildren, Mackenzie Lynn, Madeleine Elizabeth and Penelope Anne Steele all of Charlotte, NC. Besides his father, he was predeceased by a sister, Anne Markham.

Calling hours will be held from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Saturday, June 21, 2014 at the Hufcut Funeral Home, 3159 Route 22, Dover Plains, NY.
