Donna  B.  Shelters
Donna B. Shelters, 75, a longtime resident of Dover Plains, NY died on Friday, June 6, 2014 at Sharon Hospital in Sharon, CT. Mrs. Shelters was a social worker at the Harlem Valley Psychiatric Center in Wingdale, NY for 34 years retiring in 1995.

Born on October 9, 1938 in Madrid, NY she was the daughter of the later James Harold and Mabel (Cavannaugh) Brady. On February 7, 1959 in Madrid, NY she married Douglas J. Shelters, Sr. who predeceased her on December 12, 1990. Mrs. Shelters was a parishioner of St. Charles Borromeo Church.

She is survived by a daughter, Catherine Greiner of Dover Plains, NY; two sons, Douglas J. Shelters, Jr. and his wife, Janet of Massapequa, NY and Jeffrey L. Shelters and his wife, Jo of Sherman, CT. She is also survived by two sisters, Rita Frances Brady, GNSH of Malone, NY and Helen Brady of Ogdensburg, NY; nine grandchildren, John Greiner, Amber Swicicki, Caitlin Greiner, Matthew Shelters, Jessica Shelters, Nicholas Shelters, Alexis Cornelison, Kierstin N. Shelters and Daniel J. Shelters and five great-grandchildren, Nolan Greiner, Louise Greiner, Lucas Swicicki, Own Swicicki and Addyson Cannavaro. Besides hers parents and husband, she was predeceased by three brothers, Donald, Joseph and James Brady and a sister, Mary Gilchriest.

Calling hours will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. on Monday, June 9, 2014 at the Hufcut Funeral Home, 3159 Route 22, Dover Plains, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, June 10, 2014 at St. Charles Borromeo Church with Rev. Anthony Giuliano officiating. Burial will follow at St. Charles Cemetery in Dover Plains, NY.
