Obituary for James Andrew Harding

James Andrew  Harding
James Andrew Harding, 42, an 18-year resident of Wingdale, NY, formerly of Carmel, NY, died on Monday, September 16, 2013 at New Milford Hospital in New Milford, CT. For the past 10 years, Mr. Harding was employed as an Information and Technology Specialist at Boehringer Ingelheim in Ridgefield, CT.

Born on June 9, 1971 in Bronx, NY, he was the son of Andrew Harding of Myrtle Beach, SC and Patricia McCarthy of Fishkill, NY. Mr. Harding graduated from Carmel High School in 1989 and received a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Computer Science from the State University of New York at Albany. On September 22, 2012 in Wingdale, NY, he married Christine Shilkunas who survives at home.

For 15 years, Mr. Harding enjoyed coaching for the Town of Dover Recreation Department. He was an avid golfer, cyclist, runner and skier. He was a parishioner of St. Charles Borromeo Church in Dover Plains, NY. In addition to his parents and wife, Christine, he is survived by five sons, Matthew and Nicholas Harding, Jacob Honig, and Collin and Tyler Harding all of Wingdale, NY. He is also survived by two sisters, Barbara Patterson of Newburgh, NY and Kathy Micale of Carmel, NY and a brother, Steven Harding of Jersey City, NJ.

Calling hours will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, September 19, 2013 at Hufcut Funeral Home, 3159 Route 22, Dover Plains, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Friday, September 20, 2013 at St. Charles Borromeo Church, 83 Mill St., Dover Plains, NY. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Town of Dover Recreation Department, 126 East Duncan Hill Road, Dover Plains, NY 12522.
