Obituary for Edmond John Quinn Jr.

Edmond John Quinn, Jr., 92, of Amenia, NY, died on Saturday, July 13, 2013 at his home in Amenia, NY. Mr. Quinn worked in public relations for the New York Telephone Company in New York, N.Y.
Born on August 10, 1920 in Bozeman, Montana, he was the son of the late Edmond John Quinn, Sr., and Norah (Carney) Quinn. He was a graduate of Notre Dame University in Indiana in 1941, where he received his Bachelors of Arts degree in English. Mr. Quinn proudly served in the U.S. Marine Corps during WWII and Korea, finally retiring as a colonel in the Marine Corps Reserves in 1980. In May of 1992, he married Margaret Duffy Erskine, who predeceased him on November 30, 2011.
Mr. Quinn is survived by his children, Michael J. Quinn and his wife, Ellen Marie Deibert, of Dalton, MA, Aimee Erskine of Pittsfield, MA, Andrew Erskine and his wife, Donna, of Holmdel, N.J., Marie Evans and her husband, Kenneth, of Somers, N.Y., and Betsy Guerro and her husband, Gerald, of Hopewell Junction, N.Y. He is also survived by his six grandchildren, Madison and Hailey Evans, Olivia and Isabelle Erskine, and George and Mia Guerro.
Besides his parents and wife, he was predeceased by his first wife, Barbara Ann Wachtler Quinn, his daughter, Linda Catherine Quinn, his sister, Mrs. Mary McTague, and his brother, David J. Quinn.
Calling hours will be held from 3 to 7 p.m. on Friday, July 19, 2013 at the Hufcut Funeral Home, 3159 Route 22, Dover Plains, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Saturday, July 20, 2013 at Immaculate Conception Church, 4 Lavelle Road, Amenia, NY. Burial will follow at Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Amenia, NY. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Indian Rock School House, P.O. Box 172, Amenia, NY 12501 or the St. Francis Breadline, 135 W. 31st Street, New York, NY 10001.
