Damaso Quinones, 85, a five-year resident of Amenia, NY, previously of Poughquag, NY, died Sunday, April 7, 2013 at Sharon Hospital in Sharon, CT. Mr. Quinones was an avid golfer and worked as a foreman at Willow Ridge Country Club in Harrison, NY for 38 years, retiring in 1996.

Born on March 15, 1928 in Puerto Rico, he was the son of the late Santiago and Maria (Gonzalez) Quinones. On May 28, 1955 in New York City he married Nereida Cortez who resides in Puerto Rico.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Edward Quinones and his wife, Judith, of Oakdale, CT; two daughters, Nora Quinones of Amenia, NY and Nilsa Quinones of Puerto Rico, a brother and two sisters. He is also survived by two grandchildren, David and Eric Quinones.

Calling hours will be held from 10 to 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, April 10, 2013 at the Hufcut Funeral Home, 3159 Route 22, Dover Plains, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 12 noon at St. Charles Borromeo Church, 83 Mill St., Dover Plains, NY with Rev. Anthony Giuliano officiating. Burial will be private.
